INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS for STIRLING WALL  MOUNT ELECTRIC FIREPLACES

Your fireplace comes with a metal V bracket. Drywall Screws & Fasteners are used for hanging the fireplace on the wall. The STIRLING fireplace weighs 58 lbs; the following reference chart provides performance safety data for various wall board thicknesses (click to enlarge).

MOUNTING ONTO Wall

  1. Determine the mounting location for your fireplace. Consider the location of your electrical outlet that the fireplace will plug into.
  2. Attach the metal V bracket to the wall by inserting a screw in the center, pre-drilled hole. Level the bracket and inset remaining screws to fasten the bracket tightly to the wall.
  3. Carefully raise the fireplace and align the slot on the back wall of the fireplace with the V bracket. Slide onto V bracket (2 able persons are recommended for this task).
  4. Place crystals onto fuel bed shelf, covering the entire base.
  5. Place Himalayan salt rocks on top of the crystals. If desired you may substitute other decorative media in place of the salt rocks (river rocks, pieces of coal, seashells, etc).
  6. NOTE: the salt rocks and/or other media MUST NOT protrude from the fuel bed in such a way that they will impede installation of the glass window pane.
  7. Clean both sides of glass pane and handle in a way to minimize fingerprints.
  8. Install front glass pane by inserting the glass first into the top channel slot at an angle as shown. Push the glass upwards then push bottom of glass into bottom channel. CAUTION: tempered glass pane is heavy - hold firmly! Do not drop as this may cause injury to installer and bystanders.
  9. Plug into 3-prong electrical outlet and enjoy!

RECESSING INTO WALL

The rear 4" of the Stirling fireplace may be recessed into a wall; the 2" trim frame will be exposed, protruding into the room.

If you're installing into an existing wall, find your desired mounting location. Ideally the center of the fireplace should line up with existing stud as the centerpoint of the hole you're going to cut into the wall.

  1. Cut a hole in the sheetrock (or other wallboard material) that is 34" wide, 19.6" tall.
  2. There should be a wall stud in the center of your new hole; cut this stud from the hole so you are left with a 34" wide x 19.6" tall opening.
  3. Use framing studs to frame the new opening, maintaining an inner opening dimension of 34" wide x 19.6" tall. The fireplace will attach to these new studs at each side.
  4. At this point you may install an electrical outlet inside your framed opening if desired; this allows you to plug in the fireplace and hide the power cord. Installation of electrical outlets should only be performed by a qualified electrician.
  5. Make sure glass is not already installed in the fireplace; set glass aside in a safe location where it will not fall or be stepped on.
  6. Attach the metal V bracket to rear wall of your framed opening by inserting a screw in the center, pre-drilled hole. Level the bracket and inset remaining screws to fasten the bracket tightly to the wall.
  7. Carefully raise the fireplace and align the slot on the back wall of the fireplace with the V bracket. Slide onto V bracket (2 able persons are recommended for this task).
  8. Drill holes into the inner sides of the fireplace as shown at right. Once screw should be approximate 3" from the top of the firebox and one approximately 3" from the bottom of the firebox, on both the left and right sides of the firebox.
  9. If you have installed an electrical box inside your opening, plug in the power cord.
  10. Place crystals onto fuel bed shelf, covering the entire base.
  11. Place Himalayan salt rocks on top of the crystals. If desired you may substitute other decorative media in place of the salt rocks (river rocks, pieces of coal, seashells, etc).
  12. NOTE: the salt rocks and/or other media MUST NOT protrude from the fuel bed in such a way that they will impede installation of the glass window pane.
  13. Clean both sides of glass pane and handle in a way to minimize fingerprints.
  14. Install front glass pane by inserting the glass first into the top channel slot at an angle as shown. Push the glass upwards then push bottom of glass into bottom channel. CAUTION: tempered glass pane is heavy - hold firmly! Do not drop as this may cause injury to installer and bystanders.
  15. Turn on your fireplace and enjoy!

REMOTE CONTROL Instructions Minimize

The STIRLING, SOLUSION & VISION electric fireplace models include a multi-function remote control that turns the fireplace on and off, adjusts the brightness of the rear flame, adjusts the speed and color of the bottom "sparkle" feature. It also turns on the "dancing flame" feature that causes the fire to sparkle in rythm to music or sounds in the room, and turns the heater on (high or low).

Before attempting to use your fireplace, turn on the toggle power switch located on the bottom left of your fireplace.

TOP LEFT BUTTON turns power ON
TOP RIGHT BUTTON turns power OFF

  • Upper left: Large yellow dot button: bright rear flame; Small yellow dot button: low rear flame
  • Double red "flame" button: high heat; Single red "flame" button: low heat
    • "Speaker" symbol button enables the dancing flame feature which causes the bottom sparkle feature to pulse and flicker in response to music and sounds near the fireplace
  • Off button turns off the rear flame
  • The LAST 2 ROWS control the SPARKLE COLOR BRIGHTNESS and the SPARKLE SPEED
    • B+ and B- buttons control the BRIGHTNESS of each color. For example, if you want to adjust the red color, press a red "up" or "down" arrow button to select red color, then click the B+ or B- button. Repeat for blue and yellow - each color may be adjusted individually.
  • 4th ROW adjusts speed of the sparkle feature. Press any of the bottom "down" arrow buttons to adjust the sparkle speed of that color. Each color cycles through 5 speeds so press each color button down once to change speed by one level. You may adjust each color to a different sparkle speed if desired by pressing the color down or up buttons.
