"You must be chilled to the bone" I sympathize, "do come warm yourself by the fire".  As they approach, the fire dances higher and brighter. Startled by the sudden surge of flame, Rita exclaims "How did you make the coal suddenly burn so brightly? I even feel the heat increasing as I stand here!" "See here" I explain, "I turned up the fire with my hand-held remote control". Rita and Charles, now flush with warmth from the fire, are ready to head out to dinner and the opera. "Grab your coats, Frank and I will drive. And dinner's on us tonight!" I don't bother to explain that the savings on our heating bill -thanks to our new gas fireplace - allows a bit of extravagance in our budget!
